this outing’s adventure figures fat. as in the bike.
headed out on my first fatbike adventure in the snow around watertower. still cold, but after about 3 minutes of riding, cold is not an issue. sweat is.
i rented orange crush from brown’s cycles downtown. it is a 9zero7 bike with a salsa fork. fun. i played around with tire pressure a lot. when you let out all the air, the bike will climb a glass wall. i want to play around with font pressures. the only issue in deep snow was front end directional control. considering i was wading through 6″ of super dry snow, it tracked pretty well. sidehill stability was interesting. the big, balloon tire floated downhill easier than it did cross slope.
i made some fun powder turns down a 30 degree slope at the end. like skiing. huge grin on my face at the end.
the song is by the swedish band, johnossi off their 2007 self-titled debut. an amazing album. but track, There’s A Lot of Things to Do Before You Die, is 2 minutes and 39 seconds of goodness.
